I remember my Parents having Aquaphor in the house when I was a child. It would get used for all sorts of things, it was always in the bathroom cabinet!
So when Brit Mums got in touch to see if we wanted to get involved with the #MyAquaphor challenge, I had a massive moment of nostalgia. I’d actually totally forgotten about this amazing Multi-tasking product and was looking forward to seeing if it lived up to my nostalgic expectations!
In short, it certainly did! I’ve been using it for all sorts of things, and here are just a few of them:
This time of year is not great for little babies. The cold weather plus central heating doesn’t help their sensitive skin. My youngest is now 12 weeks, and has become a proper dribble monster over the last couple of weeks. Whilst bathing her the other day, I realised her neck had become quite sore. She has these gorgeous chubby baby rolls, but this can mean the skin between can get painful. I started using the Aquaphor every morning and night, and so far it’s kept the soreness away. I love that it only contains 7 ingredients too, this means it is more than gentle enough on little one’s skin.
This is something I can suffer with all year round, but especially during the colder months. Because the Aquaphor protects the skin, by creating a breathable barrier, this has meant my lips are feeling better than ever. It’s also a great base for lipstick, and stops its drying out.
A Barrier For Hair Dye
If anyone has ever dyed their hair at home, you’ll know the struggle when it comes to your forehead. The amount of times I’ve been left with dye all over my head, that can take a good few days to eventually go. The Aquaphor would be great for rubbing on your hairline, to stop the hair dye travelling down your face.
Make Your Perfume Last Longer
This is a bit of a random one, but hear me out! Rubbing a bit of Aquaphor onto your wrists before applying your perfume really helps it last longer. The perfume sticks to the Aquaphor, meaning your amazing smell of perfume will last so much longer than normal. As a busy mum of 3, this is a total life saver!
This doesn’t apply to me quite as much anymore, but lots of my memories of nights out when I was younger, are of me hobbling around in my high heels, trying to dance with blistered feet. By popping a bit of Aquaphor on the back of your feet, you can stop your shoes rubbing, meaning you’re free to throw some shapes (I feel so old) all night!
So there we have it, I’ve loved using Aquaphor again, and I’m pretty sure it will now be a staple in our family. The fact that I can use it for so many things means I’m not having to buy 10 different products, therefore saving money, which is always a plus!
