I must admit, I’ve never really been one for ‘breastfeeding clothes’, as such. I’ve breastfed two babies, both for around 18 months each. That’s a total of 3 out of the last 5 years spent breastfeeding. I could never get my head around the fact that most ‘nursing’ clothes were also maternity as-well. Which I find a bit odd, as (usually) you are either pregnant, or breastfeeding. Not both! Especially as my babies got older, I didn’t fancy buying clothes with loads of extra material on the tummy just so I could breastfeed easily in it.
Then I heard about the Milky Tee Company. I’d actually followed Lauren, it’s founder, on YouTube for a few years. My older two 👶🏻 ren are similar ages to hers, I’d followed her pregnancy updates whilst rubbing my own pregnant tummy and nodding along with what she was saying. So imagine my delight when she announced her new venture, the Milky Tee company (amazing name isn’t it?!).
Breastfeeding t-shirts with hidden zips. Sounds simple right? Simple but absolutely genius! I’d never come across anything like it before. The handy zips are in the perfect place for easy access.
The T-shirt was packaged really nicely. I was immediately impressed at the quality of the T-shirt. The material is thick cotton, it’s amazingly soft and feels pretty luxurious compared to my many primark tees!
As soon as I put the T-shirt on, I knew it was going to be a game changer. There are a variety of designs to pick from, some slogans and some plain. I went for the plain grey version, I knew I’d get the most wear out of a plain one, as it would be so easy to style with various other items in my wardrobe.
I’d say the T-shirt’s are pretty true to size. I went for the medium, and it’s perfect. The only thing I would say is to make good use of the sizing guide on the website. The material is 100% cotton, so it doesn’t have much stretch in it. This is great as it keeps its shape brilliantly, but it also means you need to get the fit right, as there isn’t much ‘give’ if not. I’m 5ft 11, and sometimes struggle with T-shirt’s being too short. The Milky Tee is a slightly longer length, so perfect for me as I don’t have to worry about it riding up when saving a child from the top of a slide/lifting them up at softplay/reaching for that much-needed bottle of wine at Tesco!
I absolutely love these T-shirt’s! I really believe you get what you pay for, and this is definitely the case with the Milky Tee. They may seem on the expensive side, but they are so worth it. The quality is brilliant, I’ve washed mine around 10 times now, and honestly it still looks as good as when I first received it. I would also carry on wearing this T-shirt even when I’ve finished breastfeeding.
